The Laboratory of biometereology (Biometeolab),
was instituted taking as a starting point the decennial experience
of the Research Center on Descriptive Bioclimatology, Biothecnologies
and Natural Medicine, instituted by the University of Milan in
1969.
In this moment our center is also a structure, which collaborates
with the: Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità (world organization
of sanity).
Our Biometeolab is framed on a wide interdisciplinary basis and
technical and scientific biomedical researches of many kinds converge
in it, concurring to verify the hang relationship among the meteorological
and climatic variations (climate change) and various human pathologies.
Among the other things we talk about the applications in the field
of neuropsychoimmunoendocrinology (PNEI), artrorheumatic diseases
and the affections of the respiratory apparatus.
A deficit in the adaptation ability of the organism provoked by
several environmental and external causes, can lead, in fact,
to real meteoropatic syndromes. The pharmacology schools are numerous,
in particular the Israelis and Swiss ones, which have investigated
the mechanisms of action of the relationship climate-man, that
seems to involve complex neurohormonal reactions.
Biometeolab constitutes a unique and original reality in the world
of Italian Faculties of medicine and we hope that our website,
with its continuously updated contents will be able to constitute
not only a useful instrument for the training of the specialists,
but also for doctors and patients.
Responsible of the Biometeolab is the Dr.Vincenzo Condemi, with
the external counseling of Prof. Angelico Brugnoli and of Prof.
Sergio Borghi.
